Description
COURSE DESCRIPTION & OVERALL GOAL
The purpose of this training is to provide clinicians with comprehensive information on the management and treatment of TB. Topics will include epidemiology, transmission & pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of TB, TB in children and adolescents, multi-drug resistant tuberculosis, TB/HIV co-infection, and key aspects of patient management. The format includes lectures, discussions, small group work, and case studies.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop is designed for physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals who are involved in the diagnosis and management of TB patients. Individuals who work in the following settings would benefit from attending this workshop:
- TB Programs
- Health Departments
- Hospital Infection Control
- Correctional Facilities
- Immigrant & Refugee Health
- Community Health Centers
- College or University Health Services
- Long Term Care Facilities
